Wedding trend alert: Calla lilies

Calla lilies are some of the prettiest flowers I have ever seen included in a wedding. Their shape tends to stand out amongst arrangements, and in your guests minds as well. Over time, the partnership of calla lilies and marriage have come to be associated with marital bliss and true devotion.

A great idea I saw implemented at a wedding this season was giving the bride a colored bouquet, with the bridesmaids having just white calla lilies. This was great for a few reasons:

• the bride’s flowers popped against her dress

• the bridesmaids dresses complimented the small, elegant white florals

• this helped the bride stand out even more!

Although having calla lilies included in weddings are not new, I’m hoping they’ll catch on as a trend for this seasons weddings.

Word to the wise, calla lilies are not cheap. If you want them included in your day, understand there will be an investment to have these part of your wedding!
